The discussions between Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) and Germany's Rhenus Group regarding the expansion of cooperation on international transport corridors, which began earlier, have continued within the framework of COP29, Report informs, citing ADY.
In this context, ADY Chairman, Rovshan Rustamov, held a meeting with the delegation led by Tobias Bartz, CEO of Rhenus Group.
During the meeting, the ongoing work related to the modernization and electrification of railway infrastructure in Azerbaijan, as well as increasing the throughput capacity of railways along the international corridors passing through the country, was discussed.
It was noted that reducing carbon emissions in freight transportation along international corridors is one of the main challenges, and digitalization of operations is particularly important for this purpose.
In recent years, amidst the increase in international freight traffic, ADY has been actively collaborating with its partners to attract new freight and diversify routes along the Middle Corridor.
Tobias Bartz mentioned that Rhenus Group provides international logistics services, implements projects in many countries, offers solutions for complex logistics processes in the supply chain for both public and private sectors, and expressed their interest in cooperating with ADY.
