Azerbaijan, Russia expanding highway between border checkpoints

Azerbaijan and Russia are planning to reconstruct and expand to four lanes a 24-kilometer highway between Samur and Khanoba border checkpoints, Azerbaijani deputy prime minister, Chairman of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Republic of Dagestan Shahin Mustafayev said at a meeting with Chairman of the Government of Dagestan, Chairman of the Commission Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov in Baku, Report informs.

Mustafayev noted that within bilateral agreements, the president of Azerbaijan allocated funds for the reconstruction and expansion of up to four lanes of a 24-kilometer highway between the Samur and Khanoba border checkpoints, as well as for the reconstruction of the Khanoba customs checkpoint.

Following the meeting, Mustafayev and Abdulmuslimov signed an action plan for 2023-2025 to develop the main areas of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Dagestan.
