Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) is currently working on involving Azerbaijani export products suitable for container transportation in the backloading process, Advisor to the Chairman of ADY Emil Mammadov said during the fifth Black and Caspian Freight Forum 2026 in Baku, Report informs.
He emphasized that the issue of backloading is of interest not only to ADY but also to all participants of the Middle Corridor, as it is the key to its sustainable and long-term development.
"Previously, our main attention was focused on attracting cargo flows of Chinese origin and export products from Central Asian states. At this stage, ADY is focused on including Azerbaijani exports that can be containerized in the backloading.
A large number of business community representatives are involved in the logistics sector today, who are already looking for solutions for the effective use of the available container fleet when exporting products from Azerbaijan. We are actively negotiating on this project with a number of large operators," Mammadov noted.
