In August 2024, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC experienced a 38% increase in foreign tourists using its passenger services compared to the same month last year, Report informs, citing the CJSC.
Thus, 3,179 foreign tourists were transported through Azerbaijan's railways in August 2024. The figure stood at 2,298 in the same month of 2023.
Overall, around 651,000 passengers traveled on intercity (interdistrict) and suburban trains last month, reflecting a 24% rise from the previous year.
The Baku-Aghstafa-Baku route saw the highest growth, with a 41% increase in passengers.
