Azerbaijan Railways, AIIB discuss regional connectivity

Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) have discussed the development of Azerbaijan's transport infrastructure, strengthening regional connectivity and areas for expanding cooperation.

Report informs, citing ADY, that the discussions took place during a meeting between ADY and an AIIB delegation.

ADY Chairman Rovshan Rustamov praised AIIB's active partnership in transport infrastructure and regional connectivity in Azerbaijan, stressing that it makes an important contribution to strengthening the country's transit potential.

It was noted that the development of sustainable urban mobility and passenger transportation services is one of the key components of ADY's strategy. In 2025, ADY transported more than 10 million passengers through interdistrict and Absheron circular railway routes, reflecting growing demand for reliable and sustainable public transport.

The meeting emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation in developing transport infrastructure, expanding regional connectivity and promoting sustainable logistics solutions.

The sides also exchanged views in detail on future areas of cooperation between ADY and AIIB.
