The 53rd meeting of the permanent Joint Commission of Azerbaijan and Iran on the use of water and energy resources of the Araz River was held in Tabriz, Iran, Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency told Report.
Representatives of the Agency, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan and relevant bodies of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic participated in the meeting led by the co-chairman of the Azerbaijan-Iran Joint Commission, representative of the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency Zakir Guliyev.
A number of issues were discussed at the meeting. Thus, the working regime of the Araz reservoir and the distribution of water between the two countries have been determined, the corresponding distribution tables for the joint use of water and energy resources in the Araz River have been prepared and the Protocol has been signed.
