Azerbaijan, Indonesia discuss boosting air links, tourism

Azerbaijan and Indonesia have held talks on strengthening air transport connections and increasing tourist flows, according to a statement shared on social media by Azerbaijan Airlines President Samir Rzayev, Report informs.

Rzayev said he held a meeting with Berlian Helmy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Azerbaijan.

"During the meeting, we presented AZAL's long-term development strategy, with a particular focus on our fleet expansion plans. At the same time, we discussed strengthening air connectivity between Azerbaijan and Indonesia and increasing tourist flows. We also explored cooperation opportunities between AZAL and Indonesia's national carrier, Garuda Indonesia, as well as Baku's role as a convenient transit hub for pilgrims traveling from Indonesia," the AZAL president said.

Rzayev said he is "confident that this meeting will contribute to advancing aviation cooperation between our countries and unlocking new opportunities."

He also thanked "Ambassador Berlian Helmy for the productive discussions."
