Azerbaijan gains new experience in ‘green construction’ sector

The State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture in Azerbaijan, in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), recently organized a seminar titled "Green Building Initiative in Azerbaijan."

According to Report, the event brought together representatives from both the public and private sectors within the construction industry.

In the opening speech, Dovlatkhan Dovlatkhanov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, and Leyla Huseynli, a representative from IFC, emphasized the significance of implementing ecological standards in construction and highlighted the importance of cooperation in successfully executing the green building initiative in Azerbaijan.

During the seminar, IFC experts provided insights into modern innovations, certification systems, and the implementation of eco-friendly construction projects in the green building sector. They also discussed financing opportunities and shared best practices from around the world.

At the conclusion, the participants, having familiarized themselves with the presented information, engaged in an in-depth discussion on how these practices could be implemented in Azerbaijan’s construction sector.
