Azerbaijan, China discuss expanding railway cooperation

During a visit to China, Rashad Nabiyev, Azerbaijan's Minister of Digital Development and Transport, met with Liu Zhenfan, Chairman of the State Railway Administration of China. The two leaders discussed further expanding railway cooperation between their countries.

According to Report, in a Facebook post, Minister Nabiyev revealed that from January to August 2024, the volume of transit traffic by rail between Azerbaijan and China increased by a remarkable 275% compared to the same period last year.

Liu Zhenfan expressed China's keen interest in participating in the development of the Middle Corridor's Southern Route. China also seeks to join the Middle Corridor Multimodal company, which was established through the joint participation of the railways of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Georgia.
