AZAL reveals when IATA Travel Pass will be tested

The national air carrier of Azerbaijan (AZAL) will test the IATA Travel Pass travel application in two directions in August, Report informs.

The IATA Travel Pass app is a digital travel pass that can be installed on smartphones and contains all the information about the passenger's health, including vaccinations and coronavirus testing, necessary for the flight.

Thanks to the application, pre-flight formalities will take less time, AZAL said.

"In August, passengers of two flights - Baku-Istanbul-Baku and Baku-Moscow-Baku - will be the first to test the IATA Travel Pass application," the press service of the airline said.

In May this year, AZAL and IATA discussed the possibility of using the IATA Travel Pass application in Azerbaijan.

The introduction of the mobile application will contribute to the safe opening of borders and the restoration of aviation passenger traffic to the indicators before the COVID-19 pandemic, the AZAL noted.

For using the IATA Travel Pass during the test period, each member of the AZAL Miles bonus program will be credited with additional miles, the airlines added.
