ATIA: Nearly 800 mines are out of use in Azerbaijan

About 800 mines are currently out of use in Azerbaijan, the executive director of the Azerbaijan Construction Manufacturers Association (ATIA), Shahana Sari, said at public hearings within the framework of the preparation of the draft Law 'On the Earth's Interior,' Report informs.

She noted that this fact also means a significant reduction in jobs and creates a problem for people in those districts: "As ATIA, we receive complaints about this issue from entrepreneurs operating in the field of mining. We suggest that the said deposits be put into operation before the new legislation comes into force."

At the public hearings, the representative of the State Agency for the Use of Mineral Resources said that the draft law provides for a number of concessions for entrepreneurs, but they will not be applied to entrepreneurs who commit serious violations of the law, avoid taxes and responsibilities.
