Water problems cannot be solved by one state alone, said Ilgar Gulmammadov, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency (ASWRA), during a session at the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs.
According to Gulmammadov, crucial steps have been taken to ensure continuous drinking water supply in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, sharply reduce water losses, and rebuild rainwater and wastewater infrastructure:
"The State Program on Improving Water Supply, Rainwater, and Wastewater Systems in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula for 2026–2035 is a strategic reform document. These reforms will not only solve engineering and communication problems but also improve social welfare and ensure ecological safety in the region. However, global support is also needed. This is not a problem that a single state can solve alone," she said.
