ASWRA: Azerbaijan's agricultural development adapted to climate change

Azerbaijan's agricultural development is being adapted to climate change, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency (ASWRA), Khayyam Mammadov, stated at a regional meeting on the Shirvan–Salyan economic region, held within the framework of the State Program for the Development of Agricultural, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Production and Processing for 2026–2030, according to Report's correspondent in Bilasuvar.

"Today, our main task is to develop agriculture based on a climate-resilient model. The challenges of the modern era show that the future of the agrarian sector depends not on extensive expansion, but on the efficient and economical use of existing resources," Mammadov noted.

"I am confident that through the joint efforts of state institutions, local executive authorities, municipalities, and dedicated farmers, the goals set will be achieved, the region's agricultural potential will be realized more rapidly, and our country's food security will be further strengthened," he added.
