Modern cities are now evaluated not only by the scale of their construction but also by their sustainability, stated Rufat Aliyev, a member of the Association of Construction Materials Manufacturers of Azerbaijan, at an event held within the framework of WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.
According to him, with the acceleration of urbanization, energy consumption, resource efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability are becoming global challenges.
"Today, cities are evaluated not only by the number of buildings constructed but also by how sustainable, safe, and durable they are. The role of the private sector here is particularly important, as the formation of sustainable cities directly depends on the quality of materials, the technologies applied, and the approach to production processes," Aliyev noted.
