ASCO develops strategy and action plan for zero emissions

The Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) is developing a strategy and action plan to achieve the International Maritime Organization's goal of zero emissions in the shipping industry by 2050, ASCO Chairman Rauf Valiyev said at an event honoring the winners of the "Shipping, Young Inventors, and Innovation" competition among students of the AzeRobot Education Robotics Training Center and high-scoring students admitted to the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy this year, Report informs.

Valiyev emphasized the significance of hosting COP29 in Azerbaijan. He also highlighted the importance of President Ilham Aliyev's decree declaring 2024 as the "Green World Solidarity Year" in the country. Valiyev noted that such events demonstrate the Azerbaijani state's attention to environmental protection and combating climate change.
