The 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) is an excellent opportunity for Baku and every participant to enhance their knowledge, said Ana Cristina Inglês, director and co-founder of the Angola Urban Laboratory, in her statement to Report within the framework of WUF13.
Inglês noted that the forum is of great importance in terms of experience exchange: "Forums in this format are the best opportunity to listen to each other and learn from one another. Therefore, this is an excellent opportunity both for Baku and for everyone here to enhance their knowledge and learn something from each other. The best and most important outcome of this event is that leaders are here, that communities and the private sector are represented here. I think this is a good opportunity to plan policy, listen to the real needs of communities, and develop solutions to the problems they face. In my opinion, we have a perfect composition gathered for this purpose."
She highlighted the importance of creating a sustainable investment environment for the future development of cities: "I believe the main message at present is to look at cities as a space for investment, and these investments must be protected. So, we need stability. But we must also view these investments as a long-lasting factor, one that will serve both current and future generations. At a time when a certain instability prevails in the world, I believe that the discussions held here will instill in us a sense of humanism and collective resilience, help us overcome our differences, and find a common path to raise the living standards of our communities."
