Anar Rzayev: By 2030 majority of road trips in Baku to be made using public transport

By 2030, 30-40% of road trips in Baku will be made by personal cars, while the rest will be by public and micro-mobility transport, Anar Rzayev, chairman of the Board of the Land Transport Agency of Azerbaijan (AYNA), said at a public hearing regarding a new traffic organization project at AYNA, Report informs.

He noted that with better organization of public transport, 90% of the population will have access to it within a radius of 500 meters. "More than 100 km of bicycle lanes will be built and digital solutions will be implemented. It will be possible to reach workplaces and main points in about 20 minutes. With increased safety measures, the number of deaths in road accidents per 100,000 people will be less than four. Annual carbon emissions per transport user will be less than 600 kg, which will lead to positive socio-economic consequences," he noted.
