Deputy General Director of LeaderStroy-M LLC Akhit Gishlakaev said that he treats Azerbaijanis and Azerbaijan with great gratitude, Report informs.
He was speaking to journalists in Moscow after a joint meeting between President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin with veterans and workers of the railway industry on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the start of construction of the Baikal-Amur Mainline.
“This year marks exactly 50 years since I left Grozny as part of our first detachment named after the 17th Komsomol Congress and began working at BAM as a lumberjack,” he said.
According to Gishlakaev, he worked at BAM for 37 years.
“When we arrived at BAM in 1974, your fellow countrymen, the Azerbaijani detachment named after the 17th Komsomol Congress, were traveling with us in the carriage. We lived that time very friendly,” he noted.
Gishlakaev also shared with journalists his memories of the role of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, in the construction of the BAM, noting that he always responded sensitively to all the requests of the builders.
“Therefore, thanks to him, blessed memory of this man,” he added.
