AirBaltic cancels over 4,600 flights for summer 2025

AirBaltic, the Latvian airline, has announced that it will be canceling flights on 19 routes for the summer season of 2025.

Report informs via Baltnews that the decision comes as a result of untimely fulfillment of engine maintenance obligations by the engine manufacturer, which has affected the operability of AirBaltic's Airbus A220-300 fleet.

According to a press release from the company, AirBaltic received information from Pratt & Whitney, the engine manufacturer, that some A220-300 aircraft will be grounded in 2025 due to a shortage of engines.

In addition to canceling flights on 19 routes, AirBaltic will also reduce the frequency of flights on 21 routes across its various bases. A total of 4,670 flights will be canceled, affecting approximately 67,160 passengers.

AirBaltic currently serves over 130 routes from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, Tampere, and seasonally from Gran Canaria.
