Air Astana warns of force majeure at London, Frankfurt airports

The biggest Kazakh airline Air Astana has warned customers about the increase in the time for passing through passport control at London Heathrow Airport and delays in baggage claim at Frankfurt Airport, Report informs referring to the message of the company.

“Air Astana informs passengers of an increase in passport control time upon arrival at Heathrow Airport on December 23-30 due to a planned strike by the border guards at UK airports,” the airline said in a press release.

The carrier also reported delays in baggage claim in Frankfurt due to a lack of airport baggage handling staff. “Some 5,000 pieces of baggage of passengers of international airlines have been waiting for release since last week,” reads the statement.

The airline assured that they are making efforts to deliver passengers’ luggage as soon as possible.

“Air Astana regrets the inconvenience caused by force majeure at European airports and asks passengers to be patient,” reads the press release.
