Aghdam Railway & Bus Terminal Complex to operate as unified transport hub

The reconstructed Aghdam railway will serve 800-1,000 passengers daily, while the bus terminal will serve 1,300-1,500 passengers, Bakhtiyar Hajiyev, a specialist at the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, told Report.

According to Hajiyev, both complexes have been built in accordance with the strategic infrastructure project serving Aghdam's development as a modern city: "Both passenger transportation complexes meet modern and high standards completely. The railway station will allow for the transportation of 800-1,000 passengers daily. The bus terminal will serve 1,300-1,500 passengers daily. The complex will function as a unified transport hub.

All essential rooms have been created in the infrastructure facility, which covers an area of nearly 8 hectares, including waiting halls, ticket offices, a library, shops, entertainment zones, restaurants, and rest areas."

Hajiyev added that for the first time in Azerbaijan, a 300-meter-long enclosed platform has been built for passengers: "Special conditions have been created to ensure comfortable passage for passengers to both the train platform and bus stops."

He added that there is also a modern parking area for automobiles in the complex: "The complex also includes service buildings for various types of vehicles and a passenger platform. The area features above-ground parking for private, medium, and large-capacity vehicles, platforms for intercity and intra-district route buses, bicycle parking, a park, and an electric charging station for electric vehicles."
