Aeroflot intends to strike firm contracts with the leasing company Aviacapital Service, owned by Rostec, for the supply of 34 import-substituted short-haul SJ100 aircraft and 18 medium-haul MS-21, airline's CEO Sergey Alexandrovsky said in an interview with Vedomosti, according to Report.
He did not reveal the value of the deals.
Alexandrovsky noted that the SJ100 liners will replenish the fleet of Rossiya Airlines (part of Aeroflot), with the first two aircraft to be delivered by the year-end.
According to him, the main pool of spare parts for the SJ100 will be formed by the Yakovlev Company, part of the Rostec United Aircraft Corporation. The MS-21 is to be handed over to Aeroflot at the end of 2024. The company is also exploring the possibility of signing firm contracts for the supply of Tu-214 aircraft.
