64% of cargo and 87% of passengers transported by car in Azerbaijan

Baku. 14 July. REPORT.AZ/ In January-June 2018 enterprises and physical entities in the transport sector of Azerbaijan transported 110,2 mln tons of cargo and 952,6 mln passengers.

Cargo transportation fell by 3.0% in the annual comparison, carriage of passengers grew by 1.8%.

Report informs referring to the State Statistical Committee.

Compared to the same period last year cargo transportation increased by 1% and passenger transportation by 1.5%.

63.9% of the goods transported by cars, 26.0% - pipeline, 6.1% - railway, 3.9% - sea, 0.1% - air traffic, and 87.3% % of passengers transported by car, 12.4% by railway and the rest were transported by air and sea transport.
