In 2021, Azerbaijan exported 357,715.1 tons of methanol (methyl alcohol) for $90.063 million, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
The volume of the methanol exports decreased by 24.1%, though their monetary value went up 75.9%, compared to 2020.
Azerbaijan exported 161,844.4 tons of methanol worth $40.911 million to Turkey, 52,763.4 tons worth $12.508 million to the Netherlands, 33,032.2 tons worth $8.252 million to Israel, 30,611.85 tons worth $7.848 million to Italy, 30,207.65 tons worth $7.732 million to Romania, 16,520.7 tons worth $5.286 million to Spain, 18,469 tons worth $3.694 million to Slovenia, 8,111.85 tons worth $2.109 million to the UK, 6,154.05 tons of products worth $1.723 million to India.
After a three-year break, supplies to Slovenia were restored. Last year, for the first time, Azerbaijan began selling methanol to Britain and India.
In 2021, Azerbaijan imported 1.96 tons of methanol for $12,680, from the United States, Germany, France, Norway and Turkey.
