UK company waiting for permission to exploit Demirli, Gizilbulag fields

The British company Anglo Asian Mining, extracting gold, silver and copper in Azerbaijan, is waiting for permission from Azerbaijan to exploit the Demirli copper-molybdenum deposit and the Gizilbulag gold deposit in Karabakh, Reza Vaziri, CEO of Anglo Asian Mining Plc., told Report.

He noted that these deposits have great potential: “Unfortunately, the Armenian forces plundered the deposits, causing damage to the environment. We are also waiting for answers regarding security issues due to the mine threat. Only after this can we begin work on these deposits. Work will be carried out at a faster pace, since the necessary infrastructure was created there during the period of illegal exploitation of the deposits.”

Since 2002, the Base Metals company began illegal exploitation of the Demirli and Gizilbulag deposits. After the liberation of Azerbaijani lands from occupation, illegal activities in these fields were stopped. Base Metals is a subsidiary of the Vallex Group, registered in Switzerland.
