Turkey intends to support development of metallurgy in Azerbaijan

A meeting was held at AzerGold CJSC with the representatives of Eti Bakir, a daughter company of Cengiz Holding, one of the largest private companies in Turkey, Report informs, citing AzerGold.

The Chairman of the Executive Board of AzerGold CJSC Zakir Ibrahimov informed about the activity of the CJSC, speaking about the projects implemented to develop the mining sector. According to him, 6 gold deposits, 1 polymetal, and 4 copper fields of Chovdar gold deposit are planned to be commissioned in 2021-2027.

Later on, Board Chairman of Eti Bakir Sheref Cengiz provided information about the company, spoke about the company’s leading role in the copper production and metallurgy in Turkey and the region. The agreement between Eti Bakir and the Azerbaijani government signed within the business forum held in Ankara last month will contribute to the partnership in the mining sector. He stated that they are ready to support the exploitation of copper fields and metallurgy.

Mr. Ibrahimov said that Karabakh has great economic potential, and existing resources will open opportunities for cooperation. The chairman noted that AzerGold is always ready to provide support to Turkish companies in this field.

Then the sides agreed to organize mutual visits of the technical staff.
