Industrial production increases by 6.5% in Azerbaijan's non-oil and gas sector

In January-July 2023, industrial enterprises and private entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan produced industrial goods worth 39.8 billion manats ($23.4 billion) - 1.6% less year-on-year, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistics Committee.

Over the past year, production in the oil and gas sector decreased by 2.4%, while in the non-oil and gas sector, it increased by 6.5%.

According to the committee, 69.1% of industrial production was done in the mining sector, 25.7% - in the processing sector, 4.4% - in the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, 0.8% - in the water supply sector, waste treatment and recycling.

In the mining sector, commercial oil production decreased by 7.7%, while commercial gas production increased by 3.3%.

In the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, production volumes increased by 1.7%, and in the sector of water supply, waste treatment and recycling - by 16.7%.
