An exhibition of Azerbaijani carpets was held in Washington under the agreement reached between Azerkhalcha OJSC and the United States-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce (USACC), Report informs.
The exhibition was organized in the gallery of the USACC office, with the participation of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Azerkhalcha, Emin Mammadov, and the Executive Director of the Chamber, Natig Bakhishov. 76 woolen and silk carpets of different sizes belonging to Karabakh, Ganja-Kazakh, Guba-Shirvan and Tabriz carpet-making schools were sent to the USA to be displayed at the exhibition. The participants of the display, as well as those who want to buy carpets, were presented not only carpets in traditional styles and colors but also in pastel-colored carpets with a modern design, and more suitable for modern interiors.
Taking into account the exhibition, as part of the "Women's History Month" announced in Washington, Mayor Bowser announced March 27-31 as "Azerbaijani Rural Women Empowerment Week". The document confirming this was officially presented to the representatives of Azerkhalcha.
