Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan mull attracting investment in mining sector

Khayyam Farzaliyev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of AzerGold CJSC, and the delegation led by Mansurkhoja Yusupkhojayev, the Head of the Department for Coordination of Transformation of Strategic Enterprises under the President of Uzbekistan held a meeting.

Report informs, citing AzerGold, that they exchanged information in the field of tax legislation to attract investments to the mining sector.

Farzaliyev pointed out that the Memorandum of Understanding and Agreement signed between AzerGold and the Ministry of Mining and Geology of Uzbekistan within the framework of the 1st Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Interregional Forum held last month in Tashkent opens wide prospects for cooperation in the mining industry of the two friendly countries.

Farzaliyev gave detailed information to the guests about society's achievements in the fields of activity.

Yusupkhojayev said that these meetings, which are held regularly, serve to strengthen relations. The guest talked about the deepening economic ties between the two countries and noted that his country is interested in learning about the experience of economic reforms carried out in Azerbaijan.

Feruz Akhmedov, Head of the Interregional State Tax Inspectorate for Major Taxpayers of the State Tax Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, spoke about the tax reforms implemented in Uzbekistan and their impact on the development of business, especially industry.

Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.
