Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation OJSC and China's Sunstone Development company will cooperate in the production of anode blocks, which are one of the essential raw materials for the calcination of petroleum coke and aluminum production, in Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the CJSC.
According to the information, at the meeting, the management staff of the two companies discussed important issues such as joint activities on the project mentioned above, establishment of long-term cooperation, and attraction of investment to Azerbaijan.
Sunstone Development produced 1 million tons of anodes in 2011 and increased the production to 2.5 million tons in 2022. In 2025, the production volume is planned to reach 4.5 million tons. Sunstone Development accounts for 39% of China's anode exports. This company is one of the largest companies in the world in terms of the volume of anode production.
