World Championship: One more Azerbaijani judoka to step to tatami today

Baku. 24 Septembe. REPORT.AZ/ One more Azerbaijani judoka will step to the tatami at the world championship underway in Baku today.

Report informs that Mammadali Mehdiyev will  join men's 90 kg competitions. The first rival of the 25-year-old judoka will be Belarusian Viktor Klyavusev.

Women's bouts in 70 kg category also start today. Azerbaijan is not represented in this weight category. The first bouts will start at 10:00 and medal bouts at 16:00.

Notably, Azerbaijani athletes, Aisha Gurbanli (48 kg), Buyankishig Purevsuren (52 kg), Ichinkhorloo Munkhtsedev (57 kg), Orkhan Safarov, Karamat Huseynov (60 kg), Nijat Shikhalizada (66 kg) , Rustam Orujov and Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) finished their competition in the championship in the last 4 days. Only Heydarov grabbed a bronze medal in the world championship. Iryna Kindzerska (+78 kg), Elmar Gasimov, Zelim Kotsoyev (both 100 kg) and Ushangi Kokauri (+100 kg) will join the competitions in the next few days.
