Winner of Baku Grand Prix on Paralympic Judo to be presented with Jirtdan

Baku. 23 January. REPORT.AZ/ The winners of Grand Prix on Paralympic Judo Paraguay in Baku will be presented with the Puppet Jirtdan wearing kimono, the character of the Azerbaijani folk tales.

Report informs citing the National Paralympic Committee (MPK) that the initiative was put forward by Bahar Shikhiyeva, a wheelchair user. She  presented puppet Jirtdan to the National Paralympic Committee. Shikhiyeva said that she could prepare such a doll for each athlete winning the judo competition.

The Committee welcomed the initiative and decided that Shikhiyeva will present the gifts to the winners personally. The wheelchair user will prepare 70 of such puppets with the support of the committee.

Notably,  the Grand Prix, to be held for the first time in Baku on May 11 and 13, will grant licenses to the 2020 Tokyo Summer Paralympic Games. 250 Paralympic judokas from 43 countries will take part in the competition.
