Ulvu Ganizade: 'I justified trust of my coaches, leadership and people'

"I have justified the trust of my coaches, leadership, and the Azerbaijani people. I am European and World champion. I believe I will continue to perform successfully in the future," Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Ulvu Ganizade (72 kg) upon returning home after winning a gold medal at the World Wrestling Championships in non-Olympic weight categories in Tirana, Albania, Report informs.

The athlete noted that he had health problems before the competition.

"The competition was really very difficult for me. However, thanks to the support of my coaches and federation, I won the gold medal," he said.

The Azerbaijan national team took first place in the team standings at the World Championships, scoring 85 points.

At the European Youth Wrestling Championships in April 2023 in Rome, Ulvu Ganizade also won a gold medal.
