"As you know, the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games were held in Baku and Azerbaijan was a wonderful host. We also prepared hard to host well. Wednesday was the grand opening. We experienced that excitement together and shared those happy moments," Turkiye's Minister of Youth and Sports, Mehmet Kasapoglu, told the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan.
The minister said that the national teams of Azerbaijan and Turkiye successfully performed at the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games held in Konya: "Competitions are underway. Both countries are performing quite successfully. I wish success to both Azerbaijan and Turkiye national teams. The main goal of these competitions is to strengthen friendship and brotherhood. We are two states, one nation."
In the medal standings, host Turkey is first, and Azerbaijan is fourth.
