Turkish F2 racer fined over his father's behaviour

Cem Bolukbasi, Turkish F2 driver racing for Charouz Racing System, was fined after his dad Yavuz Bolukbasi and manager Temucin Unalp were involved in a "provoked heated verbal exchange" with an Israeli driver Roy Nissany’s trainer Francesco Martinez in the DAMS paddock during the Azerbaijan F2 Grand Prix, Report informs.

Yavuz Bolukbasi and Martinez pushed one another during the incident. The Turkish driver has been fined 5000 euros by FIA which must be paid within 48 hours.

Roy Nissany and Cem Bolukbasi had been forced to retire from the Azerbaijan F2 Grand Prix after a side-by-side collision in turn two, with the DAMS car locking up forcing both cars into the barrier after contact was made - with it quickly becoming apparent that neither could continue. After the incident, the Israeli driver called Bolukbasi an “idiot” over the radio and the latter insisted that “he touched me”

After the investigation of the incident, Nissany was found guilty. The driver will start the upcoming race 3 positions behind.
