Tokyo-2020: Azerbaijan wins 7th gold medal 

Azerbaijani javelin thrower Hamed Heidari won a gold medal at the Tokyo-2020 Summer Paralympic Games.

Heydari also hit a new world record with 51.42 meters.

With seven gold and two bronze medals, Azerbaijan ranked 7th.

Azerbaijani parajudoka Huseyn Rahimli has become the winner of the Tokyo-2020 Summer Paralympic Games.

Report informs that Rahimli, 81 kg, defeated Davurkhon Karamatov and won a gold medal.

Thus, the number of gold medals Azerbaijani athletes won at the Paralympic Games reached 6.

Azerbaijan’s female parajudoka Khanim Huseynova held her final fight at the Tokyo-2020 Summer Paralympic Games, Report informs.
Huseynova, 63 kg, defeated Irina Gusyeva of Ukraine and won the gold medal, which is the fifth gold medal of Azerbaijan in the Paralympic Games.
At the Paralympic Games, Azerbaijani athletes won seven medals. Parajudokas Vugar Shirinli (60 kg), Shahane Hajiyeva (48 kg), Sevda Valiyeva (57 kg), and swimmer Raman Salei became the Paralympic champions. Another parajudoka Namig Abbasli (49 kg) and powerlifter Parvin Mammadov (49 kg) won bronze medals.

Azerbaijan’s female parajudoka Sevda Valiyeva, 67 kg, competed with Parvina Sanadarova at the Tokyo-2020 Summer Paralympic Games, Report informs.

Defeating her opponent with a 1-0 score, she became the Paralympic champion.
