Tokyo-2020: Azerbaijan's two more athletes join competitions

Today two more Azerbaijani athletes will start participating in the Tokyo-2020 Summer Olympic Games.

Report informs that freestyle wrestler Turan Bayramov will debut in the Olympic Games on the next day of the competitions.

In the 74-kilogram event, the athlete will face Ukrainian representative Vasil Mikhailov in the 1/8 final. If Bayramov wins, he will face the winner of the Frank Chamizo (Italy) - Avtandil Kentchadze (Georgia) pair in the quarterfinals.

Karate fighter Firdovsi Farzaliyev will appear in Group A. The athlete will vie for the semifinal after his bouts against Turkey's Eray Shamdan, Kazakhstan's Darkhan Assadilov, Egypt's Ali Elsavi, and Japan's Naoto Sago in the 67-kilogram event. The winners of the first two places will get a license to the semifinal and secure at least bronze.

Notably, 31 out of 44 representatives of Azerbaijan have completed their participation in Tokyo-2020. Only three of them claimed medals.
