Tokyo-2020: Azerbaijan's para swimmer qualifies for finals, para taekwondo fighter reaches quarterfinals

Tokyo is hosting the Summer Paralympic Games 2020 involving Azerbaijani athletes.

Report informs that today is the last day in swimming races.

Raman Salei and Vali Israfilov (S12) started with qualifications in 100m butterfly in the same subgroup.

Salei finished first in the subgroup, showing 58.99 seconds and qualifying for the finals, while Israfilov ended last fifth (1:10.59).

Competitions in taekwondo - the debutant sport in the Paralympic Games program also started.

In the 75-kilogram event, Abulfaz Abuzarli gained the technical victory over Keanu Ganapin (Philippines). He will face Juan Garcia Lopez of Mexico in the quarterfinals.
