"I have been playing chess for 28 years, and Kasparov has always been my favorite chess player. His games were incredible," Azerbaijani grandmaster Shakhriyar Mammadyarov wrote this on his Facebook page.
Report informs that Mammadyarov was commenting on his victory in the 6th round of the blitz Grand Chess Tour in Zagreb, Croatia, over the 13th world champion Garry Kasparov.
"I have been expecting a game with Kasparov for 28 years, and I won in 7 moves. That's two moves per every 4-year," the 36-year-old Azerbaijani grandmaster said.
"He was a great chess player. We are part of history," Mammadyarov added.
