Positions of five Azerbaijani chess players in FIDE rankings change

Baku. 1 March. REPORT.AZ/ The International Chess Federation (FIDE) has published a rating list for March.

Report informs that the position of Azerbaijani grandmaster Shahriyar Mammadyarov has not changed since last month. The 33-year-old ranks 5th with 2,790 points, 55 points behind the Norwegian world champion Magnus Carlsen, 38 points behind Fabiano Caruana who took the second place, 22 points behind Ding Liren of China who ranked 3rd and 7 points behind Indian Anish Giri who ranked 4th. As for  the rest Azerbaijani chess players,Teymur Rajabov had his position unchanged. He is 13th with 2,756 points.

Arkadi Najich, who backed down 13 points, ranked 35th. Rauf Mammadov remained 42nd with 2,701 points. Gadir Huseynov lost one position and currently ranks 82nd. Eltaj Safarli who descended 23 positions and is 85th with 2,662 points. Gunay Mammadzade among women is on the 39th place with 2,438 points, ascending 10 points. Khanim Balajayeva has lost 2 positions settling in the 64th place. Gulnar Mammadova left the "top 100".
