Olympic triathlon training swim cancelled due to dirty water in Seine

The much-anticipated training swim for triathletes, scheduled for Sunday, has been called off due to the poor water quality in the Seine River, according to Report, which cites the Olympic Organizing Committee's press service.

"The Olympic Organizing Committee, in collaboration with the International Triathlon Federation and local authorities, has made the joint decision to cancel the triathlon familiarization event's swimming portion, as the water level does not provide sufficient guarantees," the statement read.

Despite this setback, organizers remain confident that the competitions planned for July 30 and 31 will proceed as scheduled.

The Paris Olympics, which have been eagerly awaited by sports enthusiasts worldwide, are set to conclude on August 11.
