Ukrainian Greco-Roman wrestler of Azerbaijani origin Parviz Nasibov has shared his impressions after performing at the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris.
In a conversation with a Report correspondent sent to the French capital, the athlete said that he considers himself a son of Azerbaijan who represents Ukraine.
"I wanted to win a gold medal. But, apparently, I was destined to take silver. I need to work harder. I think haste prevented me from winning gold. I am a son of Azerbaijan who represents Ukraine. I will never do anything to the detriment of the prestige of our country. At competitions, I can compete with Hasrat Jafarov, with whom we met in the semi-finals. But outside the wrestling mat, we are friends," added Nasibov.
Parviz Nasibov, who competed in the 67 kg weight category, lost in the final to Iran's Saeid Esmaeili Leivesi and won the silver medal at the Paris Olympics.
