The MINEPS VII conference in Baku is attended by a record number of countries, Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov said at the ministerial meeting as part of the Seventh International Conference of Ministers and Senior Officials Responsible for Physical Education and Sport (MINEPS VII).
According to Report, the minister said the Azerbaijani side gets positive feedbacks regarding the level of the organization of the event.
He said the preparations for the event started back in 2022 and huge work has been done.
Gayibov also stressed the importance of the Fit for Life initiative: "We are striving for common goals in this matter. I hope that today's decisions will contribute to the development of sports in our countries."
Baku is hosting the Seventh International Conference of Ministers and Senior Officials Responsible for Physical Education and Sport (MINEPS VII) which brings together more than 50 ministers and high-ranking officials, over 540 representatives from 124 countries and international organizations.
A partnership document Fit for Life will be adopted by results of the conference in continuation of the same-name project which is UNESCO's initiative in sports. The main goal of the project is to support inclusiveness in the field of sports, improve the well-being of young people, address the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and develop policies to reduce physical inactivity.
