REPORT.AZ/ "It doesn't matter if Japanese judokas are young or old since they are Japanese and are technically talented," judoka of the Azerbaijani national team Mammadali Mehdiyev, who defeated Sanshiro Murao in the final of the Grand Slam tournament in Dusseldorf, Germany, said.
Report informs citing Euronews that Mehdiyev (90kg) who won the gold medal for the first time at the Grand Slam Tournament, says he was very happy: "I received two warnings at the beginning of the fight and tried to prevent the repetition of such cases. I did everything possible and I won. I am really happy."
Notably, Mammadali Mehdiyev (90 kg) won gold in the Grand Slam tournament, while Rustam Orujov (73 kg), Zelim Kotsoyev (100 kg) and Iryna Kindzerska (+78 kg) won bronze medals, bringing the Azerbaijani judo team on the 3rd place among 93 countries.
