Baku. 21 august. REPORT.AZ/ Japanese team squad for World Judo Championships to be held in Baku on September 20 announced.

The official website of All Japan Judo Federation informs, that one of the favorites of the race, the representative of the "land of the rising sun” will come to Azerbaijan with 22 judokas. 7 of them won individual and 4 team competitions at the World Championship in 2017 in Budapest, Hungary’s capital.

Male athletes Shohei Ono (73 kg) and Mashu Baker (90 kg) and women judoka Haruka Tachimoto (70 kg) who won a gold medal at 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro Summer will not be brought to Baku.

9 male judokas - Naohisa Takato, Ryuju Nagayama (both 60 kg), Hifumi Abe (66 kg), Soichi Hashimoto (73 kg), Sotaro Fujiwara (81 kg), Kenta Nagasawa (90 kg), Aaron Wolf (100 kg) ), Yusei Ogawa and Hisayoshi Harasawa (both +100 kg) will take part in competition.

Women's team consists of nine judokas - Funa Tonaki (48 kg), Ai Shishime, Uta Abe (52 kg), Miku Tashiro (66 kg), Tsukasa Yoshida (57 kg), Yoko Ono, Chizuru Arai (70 kg) Shori Hamada (78 kg) and Sarah Asahina (+78).

Four judokas - Momo Tamaoki (57 kg), Akira Sone (70 kg), Arata Tatsukawa (73 kg) and Shoichiro Mukai (90 kg) will represent Japan in mixed competitions at the World Championship in Baku.

Notably, World Championship to be held in the National Gymnastics Arena will last until September 27.
