After reaching the final in his first tournament back in Rome, Jannik Sinner hits a big milestone on the new ATP rankings today, kicking off his 50th consecutive week at No. 1, Report informs via tennis.com
And he joins some elite company as just the fifth player in ATP rankings history to amass 50 weeks in their very first stint at No. 1.
Sinner first rose to the top spot on June 10th of last year.
Sinner’s stay at No. 1 is in no immediate danger, either, as he leads No. 2-ranked Carlos Alcaraz by over 1,500 points and No. 3-ranked Alexander Zverev by over 3,000 points, and those two are defending champion and runner-up points at Roland Garros. The Italian was a semifinalist in Paris last year.
