Iranian athlete: 'We don't have problem with security in Baku'

Shermineh Chehel Amirani, a female athlete of the Iranian team who won a silver medal at the ISSF World Championships 2023 Baku, said that her impressions of the competition were very good, Report informs.

Chehel Amirani pointed out that everything is in order at the Baku Shooting Center: "We don't have any security issues."

Her teammate Amir Mohammad Nekounam spoke about the final meeting with the Chinese team: "It's a sport. Some win, some lose. We started the meet well. But the opponent was very strong. The main thing is that in the end, we have medals."

He named difficulties related to training in their country:

"When we train in Iran, we have a problem with bullets. However, we solve this by cooperating with different countries. Although limited, we have the opportunity to exercise to some extent."

Romain Aufrere, a male member of the French team who won the bronze medal, said that he was satisfied with the organization: "Experience shows that organizing such competitions is very difficult. We are also happy to be here. We feel very good. Our impressions about Baku and the World Championship are excellent."

Oceanne Muller said that the result is important for them, even though they do not have a license for the Summer Olympic Games: "We have previously participated in various international competitions held among both youth and adults. The tournament we won is important for us, although we have not earned Olympic berth. Because we knew our strength from the point of view of preparing for the upcoming tournaments. We don't feel any pressure. We always want to be at the top and win medals."
