IOC Executive Committee to hold online discussions

The executive committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will meet today by videoconference. The meeting will discuss the consequences of the postponement of the Tokyo Games from 2020 to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic, implementation of anti-doping programs, and impact on contracts with broadcasters.

The working group “Here We Go” will also submit a report to the governing body on the preparations for Tokyo 2020.

The IOC will also discuss the remote organization of its 136th Session, scheduled for July 17.

The Tokyo Olympics, scheduled for July 24-August 9 this year, has been postponed to 2021 due to a pandemic. The competition, which is to start on July 23, next summer, will last until August 8.
