The Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA) hosted the opening ceremony of the international conference titled Clean Victory: A New Perspective on the Olympic Year, Report informs.
The event brought together representatives from the Youth and Sports Ministry of Azerbaijan, AMADA, the sports community, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the International Testing Agency, and heads of anti-doping organizations from various countries.
The event commenced after the playing of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Mariana Vasileva, addressed the conference participants, emphasizing the special attention given to sports in Azerbaijan. She stated, "Team spirit and quality are among our core values. I wish our athletes clean victories and success to the conference participants."
Following this, a video address from WADA President Witold Banka was played: "Unfortunately, I cannot participate there. This conference is a very important meeting. Here we will touch upon the main achievements made at Paris-2024. You are also familiar with the conference agenda. We thank AMADA for the organization. We are always ready to support you. We can achieve our goals by working together. Good luck to all of you."
Tahmina Taghizada, AMADA Executive Director, also wished success to the event participants and provided information about their work throughout the year: "I congratulate everyone on the successful completion of the Olympic year. This event is a platform to analyze the past Olympic year and look at the future of sports. This year has been successful for us. We have successfully executed our set goals. More than 1,000 tests were conducted throughout the year, and we shared our knowledge with more than 2,000 participants. Final numbers will be announced at the end of the year. I congratulate everyone on the upcoming new year."
The first session of the international conference then began.
