IJF postpones Grand Prix tournaments involving Azerbaijani judokas

The International Judo Federation has postponed tournaments giving license points for the Tokyo Summer Olympic Games until April 30 over coronavirus fears.

The Ekaterinburg Grand Slam 2020, Grand Prix in Antalya, and Tbilisi were postponed.

The IJF has said it is taking steps to protect the judo family and work on standard security measures around the world. The federation said that the situation with coronavirus is dangerous and critical, and more detailed information will be provided soon.

Azerbaijani judokas will also participate in judo competitions in Georgia and Turkey. Earlier, the Grand Prix tournament was canceled on March 6-8 in Rabat, capital of Morocco, over coronavirus.
